Before you start heading towards your destination, here are
some tips and ideas you may want to consider.
The destination What is the current
climate over there? This will somewhat be the main contributing factor to the
kind of clothing you will bring.
Other things to consider: Visa matters,
local celebrations and holidays, exchange rates, local electric voltage output,
health concerns such as vaccinations, taxes and tipping.
What and how to bring As a rule,
bring only what you need. The idea here is to travel as light as
possible. Try to keep your valuables at home. If you need to, make sure your
bags are locked. It would be ideal to have two separate bags. One for your check
in luggage and the other, a carry-on bag.
Bring
comfortable clothes that don't wrinkle easily. As for pants, try to bring
those that can match easily with your shirts. Neutral colours works best.

Roll T-shirts instead of folding
them.
Bring more undies and socks than you think you
need.
As for shoes, stick to a pair. Slippers or sandals will come in
handy.
Have your toiletries and necessities packed together in a
smaller bag, preferably one which is water tight. Instead of taking full
sized bottles of soap and shampoo, get smaller versions or those in
sachets.
Take time to label your bags and clothing. They'll be easier to
spot at the airport and the laundry.
Your carry-on bags will normally
hold items like your passport, insurance certificates, itinerary, travellers
checks and possibly items that may not survive in the check in luggage. Examples
would be a camera or an extra pair of glasses. You might want to make
photocopies of important documents(i.e. passport, i/d, visas) that you
carry and keep them separately in your check in luggage.
